The last vehicle we drove at Run to the Sun was the 2016 Infiniti Q50 Red Sport sedan; quick, stylish, comfortable and decked out to the nines on the inside.
Under the hood is a 3.0 liter, direct injected and twin turbocharged V6 engine pushing out 400 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. This means that when traffic opens and you depress the pedal, magical things take hold and propel you forward at blazing speeds. Magic is also evident in the interior’s comfort and snazzy style. Leather appointed seats offer 8-way adjustment for optimum positioning.
There’s bright aluminum trim pieces and tons of soft-touch materials.
Technology includes plenty of safety driver assists, Infiniti apps for the car, and a 14-speaker premium system with Bose Surround Sound.
Optional packages on ours included the premium plus package ($2,250) with more audio tech and heating for the seats and steering wheel. The Driver Assist package ($2,250) added surround parking sensors, backup camera with cross traffic alerts and more.
What made this sedan special, though, was the engine. That magical, audio bliss of an engineering experience that makes spines tingle. And that’s a good thing.
